We were one of the two local boats that went to assist, (the other being a RIB called Playtime). Fortunate for the canoeists that it was such a busy weekend, and boats could respond quickly!

 

They had got caught up in the race, in 3 man canoes with outriggers, with a very low waterline that got swamped! Had the dive boat not been on scene (with divers in the water at the time), they could have been in there a while!!
