auxilliary eng wanted

Hi all

Lookin for an aux outboard for our shetland also any recomendations on size (HP)

I know it needs to be longshaft any one got anything gatherin dust in the shed?

Must be good cond and reliable

Actually, it doesn't matter if it's a long or short shaft. Since the aux eng will be on an aux bracket which is adjustable (height wise). If you look at the 18' planning hull boat, anything 4+ will be fine.

The family 4 is quiet a heavy boat so I would think an engine around 8-10hp would be needed to give you any sort of headway. No good having something sat on the back thats pretty to look at if it wouldnt achieve anything
