Wedger
Mate of mate looking for a relatively budget sounder and plotter so wondering what I can suggest as this market is moving so quickly now. Budget £5-800 Inshore boat looking in all the nooks and crannies I'd guess! Have already suggested joining the club! Cheers Trev

Brian
Worth looking at the Lowrance Elite 7 Chirp. That has downscan and can be connected to the VHF, whereas the Dragonfly doesn't have an NMEA output. Wedger

Mike Fox
Trev, Can I suggest your friend looks at transducers carefully as well? The cost of purchase, and effort involved in routing cables back to the unit and associated power supply can tip you over budget if you're not aware.
