I was surfing the 150 chinese TV channels for something that might be slightly interesting (sport) and found a fishing channel!

Now the delivery is somewhat different to Tightlines, no Keith Arthur's here!

There was a fair smattering of female anglers on the program some very enthusiastic and all young, nuff said.

Aye Nigel, twas a quiet night. As you can see from the photos she had no clue as to it's real function!

In another scene the female lead on the program runs up to some sort of local fishing champion and gives him a hug, the man's a hero! Looked bizarre and totally false.

There was some quite dangerous looking rock fishing for bream using very long (4m est) thin very bendy rods mated to a fixed spool reel and a float. Some big red bream were caught looked 10lb plus. Boats deliver the guys to the rocks for the day then they are left to it. Ground bait was being used just like lake fishing (not much in the way of tide).

Some of the fish were being returned which was nice to see and the programme recommended only taking what you need return others to preserve fishing in the future. That message is an uphill struggle here but it is starting to get through as the consequences of take take take are very evident.

There is quite a bit of competition fishing here with various carp species being caught. Seemed to be all using poles. Mostly on small lakes, oxygenators can be seen running.

No they wouldn't be buying from british websites, plenty of local sources.
