duncan Posted April 18, 2005 Report Posted April 18, 2005 Nice site Paul. However, I really don't like that method of splicing 3 strand to chain - whilst it does it's best to avoid chafe you can't really see if it's happening and, worse, no rope likes to be under load on a tight bend like that (you know what happens when you tie braid onto a tiny swivel). This one leaves the warp open so you can quickly see if any damage is happening and avoids the tight turn round the chain link. Quote
jack Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 Bought myself a rope splicing kit off e-bay [looks thorough, came with instructions ] ,read the notes on the club board, Andy has bought ANOTHER 300m of warp, and ...here we go again !. jack Quote
blueboatdriver Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 Jack, Did you buy nylon. If so what size was it and if I'm not being too nosey, how much was it. I've only got about 60m and I'm looking at buying some more. Cheers, Simon. Quote
Adam F Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 See here: http://www.pbsbac.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=1452&hl= The last post gives the details of a chap on Ebay who sells any quantity if rope in whatever spec you like - and he is dirt cheap. Well recommended. BarryEdwards999 I think.... Quote
