Mikey B Posted July 1, 2019 Report Posted July 1, 2019 Hi all, Started looking at new outboard motors for our new boat and was wondering if any members are running a Suzuki DF150. The choice is bewildering when you look into all the hype on the internet. I like the chain cam arrangement the Suzuki as opposed to the Yamaha belt drive setup. Any low down on the Suzuki service agents etc in Poole would be appreciated. Mikey B Quote
Tarlach. Posted July 1, 2019 Report Posted July 1, 2019 I’ve had a Suzuki 150 and a mercury 150. Personally I preferred the mercury. Servicing was cheaper and it just seemed to have a better “pick up”(?) than the Suzuki . Both great engines though. I don’t think there is really a bad engine these days ! Happy as always to be proven otherwise though ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
2006holmwood Posted July 1, 2019 Report Posted July 1, 2019 Go and see Yellow Penguin He is main dealer for Suzuki & Mercury. Ive bought 2 engines from him and always get a good deal. Quote
great white Posted July 1, 2019 Report Posted July 1, 2019 we run a lot of Yamaha 80's at work without too many issues. They are the mid range, IE same engine/block can be uprated to 100HP. We stick to the set up for 80HP as it stopped them getting trashed. The Marines used the Suzuki 2 stroke 140's and they were OK. and boy could those lads trash kit. Quote
Brian Posted July 1, 2019 Report Posted July 1, 2019 I run Suzuki DF70 and never had any issues, I've use Yellow Penguin and Saltwater Solutions, good service from both. Now it's out of warranty service it myself, using a Suzuki service kit. Quote
