Rob Posted May 30, 2020 Report Posted May 30, 2020 Back of of 2012/early 2013 I bought an ACR ResQLink+ Personal Locator Beacon. Having popped on on JV today, Adam and I were talking safety and I thought "I need to give my PLB a test". So, now home with beer in hand I have run the test procedure. These units have a 5 yr+ life and will eventually need a battery change or replacement. When I bought it for just over £220 I asked how much the battery was, at the time it was so new, the approx cost was £40 less than a new unit. Not sure what the cost is these days for a battery, but I assume significantly less. I am please to say mine tested ok, it supports 60 battery tests (one a month) and 12 full GPS tests when it talks to the satellites to confirm Comms and transmit a test. Both passed and not looking like I don't need to do anything. A few pics from today below. Rob Quote
