plaicemat Posted May 15, 2005 Report Posted May 15, 2005 Well, they say impulse buys are always the most satisfying. I am now the proud owner of a Warrior 165 type 2 complete with a Mariner 60hp bigfoot. I bought it through Boats and Outboards and it turns out to be from a member of Burnham on Sea club, who has upgraded to a Quicksilver. Hopefully I can collect it Thursday so, look out Poole Bay next weekend, weather permitting. Next I need showing how to get the best from it. Quote
Maverick Martin Posted May 15, 2005 Report Posted May 15, 2005 Terry Nice one I hope she turns out to be all you want. Look forward to seeing your new toy on the water Whats the Name of the boat? Martin Quote
plaicemat Posted May 15, 2005 Author Report Posted May 15, 2005 Embarrasingly enough, Stingray. That may have to go. Or is it still bad luck to change the name of a boat? Quote
plaicemat Posted May 15, 2005 Author Report Posted May 15, 2005 However...........I have just noticed that others seem to have the same name on the side of their boat; is this a model name? How embarrasing!!!!!! In that case, I will think of something appropriate eventually. Quote
Maverick Martin Posted May 15, 2005 Report Posted May 15, 2005 It wouldnt happen to look like this would it Troy oops I mean Terry. If it does I want one Quote
plaicemat Posted May 15, 2005 Author Report Posted May 15, 2005 Unfortunately not. However, there's not much deck space for fishing on that one! Great for pulling the birds, though. Quote
Newboy Posted May 15, 2005 Report Posted May 15, 2005 Terry: get them to trailer it down on their return match, save yourself a long trip..... . I think there's another warrior with the name of stingray in the club already. Anyone clarify this? Martin, my son has one of those in the bathroom your are more than welcome to borrow it.... Quote
Maverick Martin Posted May 15, 2005 Report Posted May 15, 2005 Nope cant find another boat by the name of Stingray in the club records Martin Quote
plaicemat Posted May 15, 2005 Author Report Posted May 15, 2005 That's not a bad idea Kam, thanks for the thought. Those of you who fished against Burnham, did you come across Ray Barker, a more mature angler? And.........I'm feeling really important. I've just noticed that I've become a dogfish specialist. There's progress! Quote
Newboy Posted May 15, 2005 Report Posted May 15, 2005 Saw him twice at Baiters, once was the cod comp last year and can't remember the other one, both times he was launching among members boats, hence I thought he was a member. Quote
Coddy Posted May 15, 2005 Report Posted May 15, 2005 Hi Terry Well done in getting a quality boat I changed the name on mine ............... maybe that's why I am not catching any fish! On the other hand it maybe that I have not been able to get out to go fishing! I am sure if you want to know anything Adam or I or any club member with a Warrior will assist. What colour is it? I will keep a look out for you next week-end. Have fun with the new toy and may you get some memerable fish on board. Coddy Quote
Maverick Martin Posted May 15, 2005 Report Posted May 15, 2005 Kam Just remembered John M has a 165 that is actually called "MALTESE" but does have the name of "Stingray" in small letters on it as well, wether his boat used to be called stingray and then changed to Maltese I don't know Hope that clears up the mystery Martin Quote
