daviduk
Bob Buy it from the web site , youll only have to pay postage and maybe get charged VAT this end. I cant think of anything else you may have to pay Dave.
shytalk
not quite as cheap as it seems boys most yankee companys charge a flat 20% postage and then this end there is import duty and vat which is about 28% depending on exchange rates you generaly work on the price in dollars being the price we pay in pounds ie $400 =

Adam F
....if Paul can arrange it, and we can all order together - it will make it worth while! I do fancy one!
Paul D
Tempting, but would be tricky to persuade them to bring more than one of these I would guess, since they could be liable for the import duty. ( From the web site you will definitely get clobbered for this - I even had to pay import duty on two DVDs form the states - with DVDs all depends upon if you get lucky or not). However, I can only but ask if anyone is interested and then it will just be a case of finding out when someone is coming over/ going out. ( I inow one person who is going out very soon ). For small items ( line / hooks and even reels ) I think there should be no problem.
Bob F
Yes, you will get clobbered for duty if you buy online. That's why I mentioned a trip to the States. Even if you go to the States you still have the problem of buying it online. They've got to ship it to an address somewhere, and you ain't got a home address in the States, unless you are staying at a friends (hint, hint). Best not to say too much on the web. Adam F
I agree Charlie. The Garmin sercive post I entered a few weeks agop just highlights it...easier to drive to Romsey than to USA!! However if I could get something seriously cheaoer in the USA I'd consider it. Adam
Bob F
Aren't the warranties world wide? So, if you buy a Garmin unit in the States, the Southampton Service Center will still repair it for you.
Adam F
True... so is this a possibility or am I just best looking for a chartplotter here in good ol' blighty? Incidently there was a Garmin 230 Colour plotter on Ebay yesterday - I bid until
