Gummage
Hi all, I have been asked for an opinion and any information on a subject about which I have no clue. Id like to ask for your wisdom. A friend of mine flew down in his helicopter to visit a friend who lives in an old customs watch tower somewhere near Southampton. His friend possessed a RIB which was adapted to have a wheel system driven by a small motor which allowed it to be driven down to the foreshore and self launched. My friend (you know who Jerry!) would like to buy one as a surprise present for his son who is planning live the dream near a Cornish beach. He asked me ; what did I think? where would he find one? who makes them? what sized motor would it want? all opinions !information or references gratefully received thanks

Newboy
Best suited to owners of beach front houses in the Solent who can drive up their own private beaches. Jim
Rob
Indeed Kam, there is at least one in Poole harbour where there is a house with slip. I guess any state of the tide launching has its advantages!RSent from my SM-G981B using Tapatalk
Kingfisher 126
The one at Cobbs is the owner of MDL, and uses it to go onto Green Island which he owns to their house!! He also has another boat in case it’s wet!!! 🤷🤷 fisherman1055 and Jim
great white
We have a Member at work who has on in Christchurch. He bought it here last summer and just drove it up the slipway and parked it in the yard while he had lunch. very impressive at least double the price of a normal Rib, but if he moves around by helicopter it sounds like it is within budget. nice present.
