plaicemat
Right, I'm toying with fitting Baystar hydraulic steering to Min-y-Mor, it is pretty stiff and jerky under power, no problem at low revs. I know it is not a difficult job but I'm getting to the stage where I find it difficult working low down or getting into contorted shapes to fit things into tight spaces. Does anyone know of someone who could do this job, not sure if it comes under the auspices of engine doctors or general boat work. Terry. gaffa
Terry Holes Bay Marine looks after mine and I believe installed the original. Be aware the later baystar steering wheel pumps are not repairable so you can't change o rings if they leak, you will need a new unit. Also if you don't have sufficient clearance to remove the hydraulic ram cylinder rod when in situ the whole unit will need to be removed/replaced. Corrosion of the exposed fittings can be an issue requiring a new unit. Talk to Chris/Richard at HBM to get a quote. Wouldn't be without mine or my Bennett hydraulic trim tabs Peteg Jim, fisherman1055 and plaicemat
