will church Posted July 15, 2005 Report Posted July 15, 2005 Can anyone help? I need to know the real name for the rubber 'witch's hat' or rubber cone that the steering/power cables pass through on my boat. Thanks Will Quote
Maverick Martin Posted July 15, 2005 Report Posted July 15, 2005 Quote 'witch's hat' Will I think you'll find thats what most people call them, most boaters would know what you meant if you described it as that Martin Quote
will church Posted July 15, 2005 Author Report Posted July 15, 2005 I've just answered my own question - apparantly a steering cone. Thanks Martin Quote

Thanks Martin Will a FAR better and MUCH CHEAPER one is available from most breakers yards. It's called a rubber gear stick gaiter. The ones of Fiestas and Escorts are particularly good. Both the 'proper' marine job and the automotive ones are made out of the same material. Mad Mike Quote
