Witch's Hat

Can anyone help? I need to know the real name for the rubber 'witch's hat' or rubber cone that the steering/power cables pass through on my boat.

I think you'll find thats what most people call them, most boaters would know what you meant if you described it as that

Will a FAR better and MUCH CHEAPER one is available from most breakers yards.

 

It's called a rubber gear stick gaiter. The ones of Fiestas and Escorts are particularly good.

 

Both the 'proper' marine job and the automotive ones are made out of the same material.
