Manic Moore
Friday off so decided to see if I could bag any Tope. A couple of tips from Martin and Charlie and 8 o'clock saw Cushdy slipping out of Kimmeridge on glass smooth water heading east. A mile later stopped for mackeral and there were stacks. On to the mark and tried drifting a while as the tide was slow (missed good anchor down time ) Anchored up and it wasn't long before the bites came, missed the first, then a 5lb thorny (I think) then another about 9 and a bit. Then missed a real rod shaker . The tide got too strong then and I was struggling to hold the bottom and a quite strong westerly blew up, must have been about a 4. Decided to move in to Dancing Ledge but had no marks and still the wind was playing silly buggers. Tried a bit more shelter in Cadmans Pool but they were not having it. The wind dropped a bit so decided to drift a bit further out and stuck it out until I bagged a 3lb 12oz Bass. No tope, a bit lumpy out there, but it's better than work PS is it a thornback
