Shallow, busy in summer and quite expensive. Trailer needs unhooking and wading out usually. Plus sides - it is very close to the entrance, so no need to spend half and hour plodding up the harbour at 4 knots.

We use muddiford in the winter when its free and Wick in the summer, which although it still gets as busy - if you launch early enough, put the trailer in the park and park the car around the corner it is free - plus its a steep slip so the boat just rolls off.

Thanks Paul, it'd be appreciated as always - Tom is taking the boat to his mother in law's (near Mudeford!) on Friday night, and we'll be chucking it in Sunday at 7 or 7.30 depending on the drive down. I presume from the previous comments we'd be best off at Wick?

Yep your better off at Wick to start with and you'll get to see the Mullet and the Sea Trout jumping on the way out if your lucky

May see you down there

I launched at wick today at high water, slips in even a big boat with no probs at all. Free aswel. Launched at muddiford on Fri and its a different story. You only have to pay between 9-5pm there, but its a pain, very shallow, you have to go out and come in on the right tides. Go from Wick.
