A trip out yesterday in glorious weather, our plans were scuppered after going out 18 miles it was still a horrible dirty chocolate colour. After discussion we headed back in rather than going further to look for better water visability. After checking the usual marks we had a dozen Bream, again the majority were males, some monster Pout and the obligatory LSD and congers. My great start to the month came back to bite me as i failed to catch a Bream all day!!!

A few club boats out so it will be interesting to see how they got on. I think boat cleaning and gardening until the grot disappears.

I was out with a local friend and what a glorious day to be on the water. I decided to give The Bridge a go first as my friend's wife likes bass. A very slow drift speed and dirty water seemed a bad combination and, predictably, nothing stirred. Then a move to the Ledge to try for bream and, again predictably, some bar steward was on 'my' usually dependable mark, we tried nearby but, annoyingly, his catch rate exceeded ours. However, we caught bream and kept a few for home consumption. Doggies outnumbered the bream by about 3:1.

Plaice then beckoned but, again with the lack of movement, .3-.4kn, and the decidedly murky water, nothing much doing and we only added a couple of small gurnard, a doggie and slipper limpets to the tally; where have they all come from?

Having got bored, we decided to have a little cruise and went to socialise with Gummage (Martin) who appeared to have been having a 'Gummage' sort of day. Nice to catch up though.

On the way back in, we saw Allan on Fisheagle waiting for the Town bridge, no such problem for me, not having radar does pay off sometimes, I hope he had a better day. I was really surprised back in the marina upon checking my log for the day to find we had done 49 nautical miles, surprising how it adds up.

I really must do better at coordinating good weather with decent tides, that's twice now.

Terry.
