of what's being caught?

Can't find any reference to the Lymington Open fished when ours was - anyone know what happened?

Is anyone catching cod at all out there; charter reports via Deepsea etc are strangley missing and Decembers SAN is of course Octobers fishing so that's bloody useless too!

If you were heading out this weekend what would you target and why?

Or should I stay at home and saute the squid with a little pepper, garlic and chilli instead?

Duncan,

Its seems ever since the high winds like the fishing has turned off. Everybody I have spoken to have found it slow, even yesterday fishing was very slow. Hopefully things will pick up for the weekend, on the Whiting and Cod front. Perseverance is the name of the game. dry.gif

Duncan, the Weymouth boats are still taking bass, in huge numbers, most fish in the 3lb range, largest going almost ten pounds. Last year, the Bass season went right through to feb!!!

I'm due out again, next tuseday, and then the flattie comp, of course, and then my final weymouth comp of the year the following monday, so I hope I can post a few catches!!!

I was down in in Weymouth last Tuesday, 6 anglers caught over 100 bass. Largest was about 6 lbs. That was with Revolution, learnt a new way of catching lots of bass using hokki, double, and sometimes treble shots.

Over Brighton/Newhaven way, boats are taking Cod and large whiting frequently. My mate caught 3 cods last Sunday, largest 27 lb, in total about 20 cod were landed, the largest about 35lb. Whiting are large, in the 2-3 lb mark.

Cheers Mappers, and welcome to the forum m8, Kam, I was talking to Josh, the skipper of Revolution, yesterday, and he told me that the boats drifting along Lights in one area on the bank down west are taking monster hauls of Bass, with a few codling in the six pound bracket.

Adam, If you want a crack at the Bass, and a chance of a few codling to boot, shall I get the numbers from Josh for you?? I'm up for crewing if you need some.

Thanks Rich, I know where the lights in one are though.

Gordon and I may take a foray down there on Sunday for a crack at a winter bass!

Anyone fancy it?

Adam / Terry,

Myself and AlunJ will be launching Neo from Mudeford at 8.00 AM, so should get to the Needles about the same time as yourselves smile.gif

I know Paul J will be out as well but is leaving earlier I think.
