Adam F
Seen this also today. It seems that the new Raider business, keen to increase sales, market postion etc are now importing these from Poland. Correct me if I'm wrong - but these are basically a Quicksilver 640 that has been fitted out slightly differently and re-badged. Looks OK, if thats your bag - a small business set up not 5 miles from my house in Parley about 6 months ago - Texas boats distributer, on the site of an old Texaco station - spend thousands on fancy premesis etc - 5 months later they were gone not surprisingly. I had a look around them one day and the build quailty was not quite what I would expect - OK, but a little shabby and they had the feel of a 'production line' boat. Why? You fancy downgrading Duncan!
TomBettle
texas 640 Looks a bit plasticy. Somewhere between a Selva, MG and a Drago Sunday Fishing. Sure it will be fine on the water as I wouldn't imagine the Raider people would have taken a dealership for a piece of junk. Reading the blurb they are the importers and not the builders and I guess they checked it over thoroughly before signing up.
Newboy
I saw the Texas at the Soton boat show, I thought it's quite a nice boat, very family friendly, but a tad expensive compare to QS and the rest. If I remember right, the hull is different to the rests. It's more like a .... Mike's boat, can't remember the name, than a Warrior, it has the modified v, so apparently it plane better. duncan
yes KAm - looks fine entry but almost flat at the stern/transom. I thought 15k + vat ex engine/trailer was a little steep I have to say - mind you I haven't looked at these for a bit. and 'no' thank you Adam...........
