TomBettle
Can anyone suggest a good inexpensive insurer? And what sort of cover do you guys have for your boats? Charlie According to FSA regs I am not allowed to recommend an insurer, however both of my boats are insured through a company called Denovo. They are based in Lymington and have a human being on the end of the phone. 01590 670055 or www.insure-my-boat.com If you call them please mention my name and Southern Motorboats. Their rates are usually competitive and the cover is good, but above al they are small enough to be truly helpful. The cover you should e asking for is a minimum:
duncan
Tom, Think you will find the channel is generally considered 'cat -c' water although of course the RCD are only guidlines as to the design critea of the craft and it is the condisiton in place at the time rather than what might reasonably be expected as an average that really matter! NOthing wrong in heading across the channel in a mirror dingy if the conditions are OK and you have planned your passage properly!

great white
In the Marine Industry We have to tread gently around who we recomend Adam, as its easy to be accused of having an ulteria motive for doing so. Nothing to say we can not tell our mates who we use though. I use Armada. Charlie

Fugazi
This was a useful thread, I just got a quote from one of the companies mentioned and it was less than half what I paid this year. I know where I'm getting my next insurance from, keep up the good work. Gordon H
