So Chaps... an angler/customer/friend of mine was fishing with me over the Easter weekend and asked me if I knew anything about a 16ft 6in boat called a Sea Nymph, because he had recently bought a secondhand one.

I didn't have a clue, but said to him that I knew quite a few lads in the PBSBA that might, and promised him I would put a posting on you jolly fine forum.

So if any of you could help with any info, he would be very grateful.

He thinks it was built by 'Sealy's' but thats about all he knows.

He is particularly interested in the size of engine he might be able to use, roughly how old it might be, and others experience regarding handling etc.

His name is Martin Henry and he fishes with the Bridge Inn SAC from the Vale of Evesham. Martin's email address is: mhenry38@tiscali.co.uk

Can you help?

All the best

Yes he is right it's a Sealy Sea Nymph. If I am right it has an inboard mounting for an outboard in a sort of well? The Sealy's were built in the 70's but subsequently others have used the mold to make their versions of the craft. If I remember rightly from a Practical Boat Owner review I read at the time, the manufacturer (Sealy) rated it up to a 15hp, but IMO it would behave well with anything from 8hp up to 15hp.

Some were built with a windscreen molding with the perspex inserted like windows in the GRP.

The hull was molded in mock clinker style, a quite full beamed displacement design.
