Wedger Posted April 30, 2006 Report Posted April 30, 2006 We finally got Otter off her trailer and chocked up with the new props I made yesturday. Seeing her off the trailer at last is a relief.........light at the end of the tunnel. Old keel strap off in an hour or so, with another hour to clean down ready for the new stainless one. Just a few hours of careful drilling stainless now before the fit over the next week. See you on the water soon. Quote
Adam F Posted April 30, 2006 Report Posted April 30, 2006 Look forward to seeing her out their Trev - and maybe fishing aboard her - I must admit I still fancy one... She's looking good though - does she have new anti-foul now? Quote

Wedger Posted April 30, 2006 Author Report Posted April 30, 2006 Thanks guys No new antifouling yet..... Now we've had a chance to get right underneath it actually doesn't look all that bad, so we'll probably leave that until a mooring is immanent.... Maybe a smooth off and a lick over where we've been working. The worst of the knobbly bits was on the trim tabs, but I took these off and polished them right back to the stainless. I wouldn't say we're nearly finished as with all these older craft there's ALWAYS something to do. The work so far perhaps hasn't taken too long but we're first timers at most jobs so it needs a little more thought for us. We intend really to make her sound, safe, and seaworthy............. polish and pampering comes later. There's a few bumps and scrapes to repair to tidy her up a bit, but really more cosmetic than urgent. We're going to sneak out for a potter around shortly, for the familiarising phase. See ya on the tide. Pressure's on now as the Wilson Flyer has new owners and gone, and the Aquapeche 400 isn't quite up to St alban's. Adam you're on........... All you need to bring is ya tackle and some numbers........ Have a great time in Alderney Tight lines T Quote
Wedger Posted April 30, 2006 Author Report Posted April 30, 2006 Coddy Yus M8..... With 58 female supervisors you've just got to get ya head down and at least look busy. Quote
toerag Posted May 2, 2006 Report Posted May 2, 2006 Wedger - get some parallel motion wipers to replace the ones you've got on there, because believe me you'll need them. I virtually always have to give mine a rinse with the hose when I put it back on the pontoon as they do tend to ship spray and worse over the front in anything other than a calm sea. You may also find water comes inthrough the side windows if they don't drain properly. Quote
Wedger Posted May 2, 2006 Author Report Posted May 2, 2006 Toerag, Thanks for the tip chap. I'll have a look around. Quote
