Newboy
Our home for the next 7 days is a small wooden cabin, with every home comfort inc dishwasher. We unpacked our bags, set up the rods we will be using. Ole- the resort manager handed out the key to our small aluminium fishing boat. We were hungry and didn
Newboy
it takes 3 minutes and we were in more than 30 metres of water. We used feathers and pirks, catching cods and coallies. We fished for about an hour, kept 4 large coallies and grilled it for tea. We finally went to bed at around 3:00am. I was told about the 24 hours daylight, I expected the 24 hours daylight, but I was totally taken back when faced with it. I looked outside, I see light but when I looked at the watch it says 11:45 pm. Sunset at around 11:00pm and sunrise is about 1:00 am. What a fabulous experience. Newboy
Day 2 Pendlar- our 40 feet wooden fishing vessel for the next 6 days is ready inside the harbour for our 1st day fishing. Target species include cod, coalfish, haddock, wolf fish, torsk, red fish and the elusive halibut. As the ship slowly motored out of the harbour, Dave Lewis, said he would check our gear (30 lb class tackles) if we wish, stating he had seen many fish got away because knot didn Edited June 1, 2006 by Newboy
Newboy
A quick dinner with cod and torsk fillets with roasted spuds and a quick game of card. We were out on our little tin can by 10:30pm. We ventured a little further out to grounds where C K and Henry caught red fish, halibut and cod to 35lb last year. Mainly into smaller stuff in the lower double figure but never the less fun on 12 lb class tackles. Again no red fish, no wolf fish, no halibuts. Newboy
Day 3 An early start at 9:00. We were off to the big sea the captain said. Weather is inch perfect, hardly and wind and even though much of the ground is still covered by the snow, it was warm enough for me to wear nothing but a pair of short on the patio for my breakfast, strange or what? Again the catch today is more quantity rather than quality. Pretty much same as day 1, except we boated 1 large haddock 7.5 lb, skipper commented it
Newboy
Back at port by 6:00pm, and instead of a normal dinner, Henry and I decided on a BBQ, since there
Newboy
The coalfish tasted the best it melts in the mouths and god was it sweet? The Cod took a long time to do and it was a little dry by the end. The baked wolfie with ginger and onions wrapped in foil was lovely; its flesh is firm, very much like an eel. By the time we finished, it was about midnight so we geared up and went out fishing again. An hour into the trip, I hooked into something big, it took line and it didn Edited June 1, 2006 by Newboy

Newboy
I landed the biggest cod of our group in the whole trip, a 19.5 lb. A personal best for me, so only 3 more fish, namely red fish, halibut and haddock to cross out for my Norwegian experience. Very tired due to all those days fishing and decided to pop out for an hour. Result, hooked into my first haddock, didn

Newboy
Day 6 Looked outside from our cabin and the wind is still there (dame). We spend the day hiding from the wind, so was limited to where we could fish. We fish Dave favourite ground where he caught all his
