Manic Moore
Well we had a great time in the keys with the fishing early or late and shopping for the FPO during the day. 80 degrees + every day made it a little on the hot side for fishing but I stuck at it , usually late at night or very early in the morning. On reflection I would say the fishing further up the coast towards Fort Myers is a little easier as more beach areas are available and in the keys most people are geared up to fish from boats. Well once I got the right tides and bait the fish started to come, with a few small snappers, a Lady Fish of about 5lb, which was very exciting and acrobatic at 1am in the morning. While on the gulf side for a few days I had a steady stream of small Barracuda to 5lb and a bonus sting ray of about 15lb. In the process loosing a number of reel churning biggies on my small

plaicemat
Glad you enjoyed Florida, Gordon. There is plenty of ad hoc fishing to be had, as you have found out and with a bit of research and local knowledge, the boat fishing can be great and not necessarily too expensive. I think I'll probably be down there November time when the deer hunting season starts. Hunting early morning, fishing later in the day. Great. Terry B.
