I`ve got a friend with a boat and they are looking for a slipway in the Rockley Park area. I think there is one at Rockley Park but as you guys are down that way i thought you could give me some info.

He`s looking for a slipway with storage for the car and trailer and won`t cost a small fortune. Are there any better ones than the Rockley Park one but in that area?? Any idea of prices??

Cheers

Alan

Duncan will be your man with re. Rockley - as far as I know, the slipway is pretty slow gradient, but the costs are not too bad - it also leaves you with a long steam to the sea.

Baiter is the public option, but again fairly shallow, so hard to launch a big (18'+) boat and cost

I echo Adams points except that Rockly's slip is quite a good one with a pontoon next to it for ladies and crumblies like me to get in the boat from. Rockly also has trailer and boat storage facilities. However they are ajacent to (over the railway tracks) a large council housing estate which is crime central. If leaving anything it must be firmly secured, locked and alarmed. They aint cheap either albeit less than Cobbs. There is a slip next to Cobbs called Davis's they also have a slip and are a bit cheaper than Cobbs.

There is also a SMALL slip off Lake Rd Hamworthy which is free but is gated off so it will only accept dinghys and the like.
