JIMBOB
Well done Andy.I'm glad you managed to snare a few, It wasn't the best of conditions out there for the sole, that wind was howling when we got back in. Hope the weathers better for the next trip. How big were the sole? any doormats? James
lady jane
james, the largest one was thirteen inches long but not sure of the weight. having not caught any before i dont know what size a doormat would be ? the one thing i did find interesting was that i caught all the sole on one of the extendable metal booms with short snoods, but my crew caught none on a normal 2 hook rig even though he still caught bream ! do the size of tides make any difference or is it just a case of it has to be dark for them to feed ? thanks again andy
Gnasher
how big was the bass at hurst? i tried there last week in poor conditons, but want to try again, i missed one, but found maccy hard to come by. Dont know where the maccy are, as we managed 2. was the bass on a live maccy? i would of thought a doormat weighs 2plus, i got a pic of a beast in the gallery, but landed that from shore. That went 2lb 10oz i think.
large fries
Dan in that area try for mackerel around the sconce bouy. Can usually get them there, though sometimes a struggle 1 hour either side of low water. If going there around low water get bait at Needles or in the bay around north head bouy to the white house at Milford.Dead mackerel also catch either as flappers or fished whole. JIMBOB
Andy The size of the tide doesn't make a huge difference but Ive have done slightly better on the bigger tides, but its does have to be dark. The fishing should get better up until September James
