pegleg
Hi All, I thought that it was about time that i added my name to the crewing list instead of reading all of your great stories and doing nothing about it. As some of you know already , i have only one leg ( i wish i was a lobster ,as i hear it would have grown back by now) and i am on crutches , so unable to carry my own gear (very limited) or do any wading etc. I have very limited knowledge but have been on a few charter boats. I am hoping to start off slowly and learn all the tricks and have loadsa laffs. and catch loadsa fish of course . Very happy to share all costs. Afishionado
I only have one eye and sometimes wear an eye patch to stop the wind making the socket water. Now let me see.............. One leg, one eye patch, found in and around boats. One of us should have a bloody parrot? I would love to offer but I too need an able bodied fishing buddy to launch and retrieve (Spinal probs) and the boat is a bit small for three, however I am sure you will get offers to crew because I have rarely come across such a generous and sharing bunch of blokes as in this club. pegleg
Hi Mike, Perhaps we could go halves on the parrot. At least we wouldn't run out of feathers..............well not for a while anyway. Cheers mate Jas
Maverick Martin
Jason I occasionally need crew and post here when I do. If you see a post from me please apply. Not sure how you would get on the boat but we can work it out Martin

Mike Fox
Good luck on the trips Jason! Having helped a chap get back to sailing after losing the entire right side of his body after a stroke, I know it can be done. Some things took him a little longer, and preparation was key, but he was fine. Just to complete the one leg, one eye and a parrot sketch, you might be interested that we have fished with my son's budgie on board for many years. As we tend to spend whole weekends afloat, fishing when we can, he was keen to have a pet that could travel too. So if anyone is out and about, and hears said ship's parrot shouting at the seagulls, your ears are not deceiving you...it's us on that strangely-shaped fishing boat with the incredibly low fuel consumption. TomBettle
....Whatever next! Tic Tock Tic Tock Tic Tock And a bl@@dy great crockdile jumps out of the water and grabs the one eyed one legged parrott with a hook for a hand! Oh look, Perter Pan has just flown by! Jason You are welcome on Quest II for a wrecking session one day soon! If you can drive a boat and have a couple of beefy rods, you are more than welcome Sharking on Friday....? pegleg
Thanks chaps, As for the shark fishing, i think that i'd feel like i,d been thrown in at the deep end and probably have to take a change of underwear if i caught one. I,m just starting to buy new boat gear as most of my gear is quite ancient but usable, and i've got no clue how to handle a boat properly........ so i wouldn't be much help to you Tom. Be happy to crew for you any other time and share costs. Jas
Bob F
Hi Jason, I'll get you out on Splash Out once I get my act together. Just got back from Israel and I'm feeling a little shell shocked... A missile landed 500m from our hotel. Then another one landed near to where we had dnner!!! I think someone was trying to tell me something, so I said "bugger this for a lark" and got the next flight home. Home safely now but have still got some work to do on the boat before I can put her on the water again. Stick in there mate. We'll get you out fishing. Bob F. pegleg
Hi Martin, Many thanks for offering your help mate. I hope to see you and Bob on saturday. I've got to work out what's what with Bob yet. Jas
Bob F
Thanks for the offer of help, Martin. Change of plans unfortunately. My car broke down on the way back from Manchester yesterday. Nothing too serious, I hope, but the garage need to keep the car till Sat afternoon. I called Jason to rearrange for Sunday, but he's already booked up on Sunday to go out from Baiter will another mate. So, probably no fishing for me again this weekend, but I have to get the caravan ready to go on holiday on Monday anyway, so probably better that I don't go out (at least that's what the misses say! ) cheers BF
