Fugazi
Fugazi will be out tommorow hoping for a repeat of today, mackerel still about and we managed to tease out 5 nice table size bream and one bass around 3lb plus the usual LSD's and pout. No luck with whiting, cod or herring but with the water temperature at 14.5 degrees its probably too warm. Saw Gastronaught on the way back in but don't know how Alun's session went. alun j.
Just a short session in the afternoon sunshine........annoying problems with new [ replacement ] Lowrance unit !!...at least the sounder was OK and handheld GPS still onboard. Went to the Rough and tried a few spots........ but couldn't escape the hordes of dogs and pout [ every drop ! ]. Did pick up two small, but table - size, bass, a small conger .......... and was smashed off by something very big [ probably a conger or possibly a big ray] that grabbed one of the small pout; fishing big , for me, with 30 lb. trace, this thing abraded and/or bit through leaving managled pout on top hook. Fishing died with the tide, so I upped anchor on the slack and went back to the Ledge for the first part of flood as the sun went down; calm and beautiful surroundings....... just one, slightly bigger bass amongst the endless succession of dogfish..........obviously I wasn't quite close enough to the Ledge's rough ground. Had a dash back in with Neo......I thought his boat was supposed to be quick!!? and met Enticer on the slip.......all having similar sort of days. Good fishing to those out today, Alun. Bob F
Not a red letter day for Splash-Out. Fished the Spoil Grounds and then the Slates. Strap Conger, Pout and LSD were the order of the day. Heard of some good fish on other boats, though. Paul J - Pollack 10lb. Whistler - 20lb Blonde. Nipper - 4lb Brill. Great to see Cascars and his buddies. Baiter was buzzing with fishing boats. BF

Paul D
Had a dash back in with Neo......I thought his boat was supposed to be quick!!? I had to stop and reconnect my GPS as it had a loose connection ( honest ). Have to say I was impressed with the speed you achieved - I was just a shade quicker but was 2 up with all the extra weight ( plus cuddy ). Also didnt have the bottle to go throught the run the speed you did !
cascars
As one of the clubs newest members I would like to say a big thank you to Rich and Mark for all of their help yesterday on my first trip out of Poole with Sea Mistress. Baiter Slip was our first hurdle, what a nightmare with a biggish boat, it makes me wonder how you all manage. I am certainly not used to a slipway with no slope, but with all the help to launch we soon got her in the water and out to meet Nipper who was sitting a few yards off waiting patiently for us. We followed them out to some rough ground which with the tide run and an anchor that did not want to hold made fishing difficult to say the least. I had a small doggie but with no other bites my crew fancied looking for fish elsewhere so we shot off towards the Needles and fished some ground about 3 miles off where I had a conger of about 15lb before we headed back to Nipper where we had a 3lb Pollack. Before we headed in at the end of the day we spent half an hour trolling Rapalas around Old Harry which resulted in a few small pollack and a small bass which were all returned safely. The sunset on the way in was so spectacular I could not help but take photo after photo and it was a fantastic end to a poor but enjoyable days fishing. Again Rich, Mark and other club members and boaters were only too willing to help retrieve the boat before our drive back to Kent. I look forward to seeing many more of you next week at the comp hopefully when I get presented with 1st Prize, only joking! Thanks to all at a truly great club and hopefully at some time in the future we will have a decent slip of our own.
Maverick Martin
Terry Good to meet you if only breifly and glad you enjoyed your sight seeing excusion It might make you feel a little better re the poor fishing result that we all struggled a little in the large tides. Should be no trouble or excuses next week though as the tides are considerably smaller. See you Sunday Martin
