Adam F
Jase, They are all much of a muchness IMO. I have an IMAX, which looks good and is well made, but the cut leaves alot to be desired... it's all out of proportion - but thats on a lanky beanpole like me. Penn do a nice suit. The Sundridge ones are OK, but I feel they try and be too technical with the features. 90% of the year I wear goretex sailing clothes which do a far better job and bung a liejacket over the top to make me float. When it gets really cold for the dozen or so cod trips over the winter out comes the suit. Go down to your local shop and try a few on. great white
Hi With Growing sons we have opted for the more economic two peice sundridge ones. but we know they are only really bouyancy devices and still carry lifejackets for all onboard. In fact these are on offer in Wessex angling at just under

Gazza
I would go for a 2 piece as you can get really hot in them!! My mate has a 1 piece and 90% of the time he has the top half folded down with the arms tied around his waist. Look at the Newton weight inside most will be 50 but i`m sure you can get more if you feel safer. Gary
Fugazi
I've got a 2 piece, but hardly ever wear it as it
jack
I have 3 flotation suits,my Sundridge, which is light;flexible and keeps the wind off, [summer/spring ] Lets water through the Zip bottom ,always has from new. My Fladen" survival rescue", Dayglow orange.heavier Nylon shell, quilted nylon lining.Totally wind and Waterproof [wash down with hose whilst wearing it ] A really professional quality item. And my Ultimate cold weather suit, similar to the fladen, but with a rich fleece lining.usually worn with a lightweight cotton track suit under.tested in near arctic conditions out of Dover in 4/5 N.E.winds with frost all over the decks etc,[ yes,had moon boots on too,! ] Bought this one Mail order from a Fishing Tackle company in Yorkshire, I cant Give the actual Name because the suit is on the boat. I dont suggest you buy 3 but just some guidance to whats about...Keep warm and Dry,and the lack of Fish, won't matter..{from one who knows }... jack

Swainiac
Jase, Ive had the sundridge two piece, and the Penn two piece, the sundridge trollies were excellent for a lanky lard arse like me, the jacket was a tad uncomfy whereas the Penn jacket is fine and the trousers are uncomfy @R'ich
Newboy
I've got the fladen 2 piece. It's fairly warm and keeps me dry. Since there's no inner fleece, I wear it in the shower to clean it, just hang it up afterward and it will dry quickly. The only -ve is that I feel the trousers are too long (or t legs are too short) they dragged on the ground.
Sinbad
Hi all Going back to some earlier comments - I find its rarely that cold that you cant manage with thermal layers, fleese and breathables, They win hands down on comfort, but at a price. you mentioned you wanted to know what the best was, so maybe price is not so important. when the water is in single figures, I convinced myself I needed a float suit last season, in case I went overboard, unlikely as it might be, it was a risk I couldnt afford to take, to be in the water. However, I agree that they dont feel very comfortable, and certainly the extra bulk makes you a bit clumsy moving about. I made a mistake of buying too large a size, thinking that you need a number of layers underneath it - wrong! I went for the 2 pc Imax in the end, as it was good value and is well put together, but I'd echo others points that different manufacturers do vary in size, and I think the Imax would fit the shorter 'stouter' profile better than the lanky beenpole (no offence intended to either types !) great white
Ita a compromise thing again With three of us now wearing flotation suits in the cold weather it takes a lot more room I have cured it by building a bigger boat but its cost me a year away from fishing charlie
