alun j. Posted January 16, 2007 Report Posted January 16, 2007 I'm hoping to get a trip after flatties up in Southampton Water, probably in the Hamble [ or nearby ]. Looking at the map, this area would seem to be on a longitude close to St Catherines Pt. If so, does that put it in the range eligible for club reports etc.? If there is a specific eastern limit [ numbers ], I can check when afloat. Alun. Quote
Fugazi Posted January 16, 2007 Report Posted January 16, 2007 Alun, St Catherine's Pt is located at 50 34 544N 001 17 876W and Hamble Pt is at 50 50 963N 001 18 580W so you should be OK. Gordon H Quote

alun j. Posted January 17, 2007 Author Report Posted January 17, 2007 Rich, Not launching this time; I've sort of got an invite on a boat moored in the Hamble, but hope to check out possible spots if the fishing is worth the travel. Alun. Quote

Alun. Hi Alun Fishing in the Hamble can be one of the two extremes. Fantastic or absolutely pants. I used to live in the tiny houses right at the public slipway next to Moody's Marina. From the slipway I could catch, Bass, Flounder, Eels, Mullet, Sea Trout . On a boat the world (or at least the river) is your oyster and you should have good fun. Good luck. Tom Quote
Newboy Posted January 17, 2007 Report Posted January 17, 2007 The slipway at Warsash is gravel with 2 different gradient. The top half is flatter and the bottom half a more user friendly slopier one. Parking is round the corner and is free. The slipway at Hamble is nowhere as good, it's holes everywhere. Quote
