Oooooh 'eck. That shouldn't happen. blink.gif

When you say "then nothing", does the Search window appear? Or does the computer just hang??

Have you tried restarting the computer?

Hi Dave

Sorry to hear about the virus, how did you get it? I believe you can remove that virus without refromating your HD. If anyone else gets it click here

I hope you didnt loose any important information, its a bas@@rd when you have to reformat your HD, takes ages to do and then you have to re-input or restore all year info.

Never mind have a beer and think about your next fishing trip

It seems i may have had it for a while slowley destroying everything until in the end i lost everything ,then it was to late ,a friend can round and done all the work and now i have what could be described as a new comp ,just wish i had backed up all my photos and favorites, I have changed my opperating system now so hopefully shouldnt get it again

Went fishing on Sundance today and had 6 Pollock to around 10 lbs lost a few too,

Dave,

Get yourself a virus scanner. That is the only way to prevent getting these.

Currently I am receiving 10 + infected e-mails per day on the webmaster account.

re: Different operating system, if it is either Windows 95/98, Windows 2000, Windows NT, Windows XP ( ie. Any microsoft one ! ) then you will be open to infection from all numbers of viruses. It's not Microsoft's fault, just that as it is the most common then viruses are designed to attack them.

If it is Linux then there is less chance.
