Afishionado Posted February 1, 2007 Report Posted February 1, 2007 Outstanding work though Fred, as someone said it is HUUUUUUUUUUUge. Don't you ever feel sorta daunted by it all? I bet you can't wait to get it wet. Mad Mike Quote
Newboy Posted February 1, 2007 Report Posted February 1, 2007 no its not a mirror it's Glen Caines playing catch up In that case, your boat can't much smaller than Pat's then ...... Quote

gaffa Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 Jeez What you gonna use to tow that with Fred??? I suppose you could borrow a tank transporter and at 10mph rent a lot of Hotel Rooms. Seriously nice boat , she's coming on nicely Can't say I'm mad keen on the colour though- is it too late to add a coloured gelcoat layer Pete- PS Written with Pure Jealousy Quote
Paul D Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 no its not a mirror it's Glen Caines playing catch up Crikey - Is Glen Caines boat bigger than his existing one ( and by that your's is as big/bigger than Valkyrie ). Impressive. Quote

crazy fred Posted February 2, 2007 Author Report Posted February 2, 2007 now thats what i call big 21ft beam Quote
great white Posted February 3, 2007 Report Posted February 3, 2007 Check out pats photo's on deepsea when the boat came down by road through portland, a tad tight on some bends What beam does yours have Fred? Lovely boat and the engines seem to have room for a bit of maintenance mate Charlie Quote
crazy fred Posted February 4, 2007 Author Report Posted February 4, 2007 mines a bit short of pats beam its only 16ft Quote
Afishionado Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 The words 'sixteen foot beam' do not go together with the word ONLY!!! Any way 16ft is much nearer the 3 times beam = length ratio which makes boats look right. Mad Mike Quote
Sam Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 we got ours right then mike 30' by 10' beam sam Quote
Afishionado Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 LOA divided by 3 = beam are the classic dimentions for a displacement hull where speed is not the only factor. The same ratio works for loads of things. For the ideal balance in a photograph 1/3 subject 2/3 background just 'looks' right. The length of your feet are about 1/3rd the length of your leg.
