Not sure if this is allowed as we were on board a chartered boat.

Anyway, six of us went out from Lymington on board Tomkat skippered by John Skeggs. We first stopped off Hurst castle to see if Mackeral are here yet, the answer is no.

Next we moved to the west of the needles to target the breams. Fog and mist hampered visiblity, down to about a mile. Caught some doggies and one bass with squids strips as baits. After about an hour things quiet down and with another 30 mins no fish, John move again to just outside Christchurch.

Here we caught 7 breams in about 2 hours, largest was bout 3 1/2. Note breams here are very cleaver. We had lots of small bites and the big one never comes and when we reel in, the bait's gone. They must have hands.

Anyway a good day nevertheless.

Glad you had a good day.

You can report anything fishy on the forum as it is of interest to members and visitors alike.

You cannot however record fish in the club fish book as anything caught on a fair paying charter boat is not allowed.

There are more rules than that governing what fish are and are not allowed but you will learn this in time.
