plaicemat Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 I see on the news today that Poole Harbour Commissioners are going to improve the facilities so as to be able to accept larger craft, i.e., ferries, etc. Car traffic over the water has increased by 20% in the last year (what's happened to the tunnel?) and Poole wants some of the action. The 'Britannia' is arriving today, I understand, this being a larger craft owned by Brittany Ferries. Would this be a good time to ask for a decent slipway to be included in the plans? Terry. Quote
Maverick Martin Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 Would this be a good time to ask for a decent slipway to be included in the plans? Doubtful as the channel widening and deepning took place last year. Martin Quote
plaicemat Posted February 26, 2007 Author Report Posted February 26, 2007 Agreed but, the new terminal etc., will be started this year on the site of an abandoned harbour area. It's got to be worth suggesting as it's easier to include something at an early stage rather than later. Perhaps the developers could be persuaded to fund it. Terry. Quote
