Manic Moore
Can anyone help and tell me where I can get a mic holder for my VHF. The moulded clip on the back has broken from numerous times falling out of the holder (metal clip) so I am looking for a universal holder in soft plasic maybe? So it stays secure. Does anyone understand my ramblings

Manic Moore
Unless I missed it, I think this is still a clip type. What I was looking for is a holder that cups the intire mic, although I'm not 100% certain that it is going to work as my mic has a key pad on the front. plaicemat
See if you can find one from a cheap mobile hands-free kit. I'm sure you know the sort, the ones with the expanding sides that grip when squeezed in. I've still got one kicking about somewhere; if I can find it, I'll let you have it. Terry. Manic Moore
I know the type you mean Terry, I was looking for some thing more made for the job, but it may be that will be what I have to use in the end
Adam F
Gord, Ive never seen a vhf handset holder that encompases the whole mic... Icom use a basic clip holder and Ive never had one fall out - the one that Silva supplied with yours seems crap and is very flimsey. I may have a spare Icom one somewhere, failing that why not give them a call and see if they'll supply one?
djredrupp
got the idea from a winch handle holder: http://cas-yachts.com/aos/handheld/ this should encompass the entire mic, though not purposely made for it! hope it helps! Sinbad
Gordon Thinking of your VHF Mike, this holder might do, with the addition of a slot for the cable cut in the front. Its used, of course, but you'd be welcolm to try it, Dimensions 75 x 90mm deep PM me and I'll pop round after work Edited March 28, 2007 by Sinbad
