Lifetime Vhf License?

Who has theirs?

I called OFCOM today as I had sold BW and the MMSI obviously went with the boat. The website is not that easy to use, but after a quick bit of coaching from their helpline it took all of 10 mins to surrender my hold license and details and create a new one - plus, no more tax disc licenses anymore - you simply download it (it is now an A4 certificate)

Easy! biggrin.gif

While you are at it consider getting a separate marine VHF Portable licence as an alternative to registering it with the boat radio licence. Useful if you use the portable on other boats as you will still be "legal" plus have a distinct call sign for distinguishing the radio during emergency use.

Got mine last month.

Worth noting that you need to have that document on the craft at all times acording to the terms and conditions.

I have taken a copy (both sides) and laminated the original to keep for use if asked blink.gif and retained the copy at home.

That way you have all the info should you need to get a copy or loose the first one! huh.gif
