Maverick Martin Posted August 30, 2007 Report Posted August 30, 2007 Charlie use the IMG button and paste the file address into there. You should then have the picture in your post as I have done in yours and below Martin Quote
charlieannear Posted August 30, 2007 Author Report Posted August 30, 2007 Thanks Martin When I use the IMG button it only seems to insert the text, and not the image- could be something to do with the fact that my computer is running Vista and Windoes LiveOneCare- will have to check it out. I was trying to work out how Duncan manages to insert those big photos... Quote
charlieannear Posted August 30, 2007 Author Report Posted August 30, 2007 (edited) Aha! Dunnit! BTW, those are my new boat name stickers- Cool eh?! Edited August 30, 2007 by charlieannear Quote
Maverick Martin Posted August 30, 2007 Report Posted August 30, 2007 Yep you definately got it but try not to insert very large pictures like the above as it makes reading post difficult having to pan across all time. If you open the picture then take its url before enlarging it should come out middle sized...perfect for reading and telling the story Martin Quote
charlieannear Posted August 30, 2007 Author Report Posted August 30, 2007 Yep, point taken. Perhaps a it's a lesson in How Not To Do It then! Quote
Gnasher Posted September 1, 2007 Report Posted September 1, 2007 hmm... clever....how do you do that then? Quote
charlieannear Posted September 1, 2007 Author Report Posted September 1, 2007 (edited) Basically if you use the IMG button, you can include an image that is held elsewhere on the web. So what I did was upload some photos to the PBSBAC photo gallery. Then browse to the image you want, and as Martin says this can be the 'preview' of the image, rather than the full screen one (if the full screen one is massive it makes the forum post a bit cumbersome.) Then 'right-click' on the image to get the url. Copy the url and then you can paste it into the pop-up box that appears when you click on the image button. You should then get the image in the post, and you can put in more than one- you can only do one per post with the 'file attachments' method. Edited September 3, 2007 by charlieannear Quote
Gnasher Posted September 3, 2007 Report Posted September 3, 2007 right clicked a pic, but how do i get the url then? Quote
charlieannear Posted September 3, 2007 Author Report Posted September 3, 2007 (edited) Right click a pic and select 'Properties' and you'll get a pop up thingy which has the url on it. Edited September 3, 2007 by charlieannear Quote
Paul D Posted September 3, 2007 Report Posted September 3, 2007 Right click and then select "properties". The URL is then the bit that says "address (URL) You can highlight this and then select "copy" using the right mouse button. You then paste this in to the requested image URL using the right mouse button and then selecting paste. How about a web site demo one club meeting ? Quote
gaffa Posted September 3, 2007 Report Posted September 3, 2007 quote "How about a web site demo one club meeting ?" Seems an excellent suggestion Paul We might be able to get some new gallery pictures onto the site and repair some broken web links--Tek Tanks for example. I'm sure we can get a lot more out of this site with a little bit of hands on from your kind self Mr. Webmaster Guru Sir Pete G Quote
