toma
Another trip out on the North Sea this morning. Yet another early start for the intrepid "sea dogs" We set off at about 6am, nice enough morning, a bit overcast but pleasant. Porky plotted our mark into the GPS and then the alarm sounded, "right lads here's the spot" For baits we had, ragworm, squid, black lugworm and limpets, we used daylight lures, also had hokkai lures, they were fished tipped off with rag worm.We fished on the drift in water to depths of 70foot + First fish fell to Ron, a nice cod, Ron let us know he had got the first cod, nice one Ron. More cod fell to rons rod, i forgot who got the next cod, silly me, As the morning wore on we we all got into the fish, the spcies caught included, mackeral, whiting, pouting, coa;fish and a cracking haddock. The haddock fell to Lee's rod, Please see picture in the catch report picture It was agreed that Lee also had the biggest fish of the day, a nice cod Please see picture in the catch report picture Top rod on the day went to Ron with 11 good sized cod, Next rod of the day went to Lee with 8 decent cod. Porky had 6 good sized cod Steve also had 6. We all had a lot of under sized fish, all returned to fight another day. Loss of the day went to me. I thought i had snagged the bottom when my rod tip bent over, damn i though, tyhen all of a suden my rod tip started to bounce about, yes its a good one,i started to pump my rod then reel, my rod tip bend over, yes you've got a good one there Andy, when i almost had it to the top, damn, it got off. We all agreed that it could have been a double figure cod, or another species, but the cod would have been the favoured fish. But not to worry there's always another day. Another great morning fishing with decent fish being caught.
