Poor Start Great End!

We met up with Alun by chance when we went over to the ledge for a change from Swanage. A slow hour or so in the comany of several fishing boats ( Awol ?) about a mile out produced only LSD's. Then I spotted Gastronaught in my monocular about a mile or so away. We were that bored we upped the hook and went over there to say hi.

A tip or two from the oracle gave us enough info to find our own little piece of heaven and the catching began smile.gif

I stuck some groundbait in and within seconds it was wrass city, then a bit later tiny pout city, and then TRIGGER city!!! biggrin.gif. We caught about 6 going 'bout 2 to 4 lb but only kept 2 back for the freezer. We also had some good bream, again going 2 to 3 lb but we only kept one for the pot.

Only a tiny ripple over the swell on the way back 4500 rpm all the way home, 1 hr to the minute from upping the hook to picking up the berthing ropes at Cobbs.

So Mike.........were the tips productive???

I had to leave before the best bit of the tide in that spot.

Don't put the triggers in the frezzer.........enjoy them at their best.....1 to 3 days old, filleted and skinned....turned in sizzling butter with little else!! Bon appettit!!

We are abandoning all future plans and will now wait in 'beach hut' bay for you to come out and 'stalk' you!! laugh.gif

Thanks so much for the advice and yes it went nuts shortly after you left. Ran out of worms, mackerel, and down to the last three squid.

I forgot to tell of one of those 'I dont bloody beleeeeeveit' fishing things......

I was just landing one when I saw another following it up through the water. I remarked on this to Mark who was just baiting up. He quickly swung his bait out trailing it in the water about a couple of foot down. The other Trigger darted up to the bait , took it in and blew it out too quick for a strike> Mark slowly drew the bait in the water to give it a bit of life and the fish was back in a flash. This happened another two times untill WALLOP! Mr Trigger took the bait and crash dived(thank goodness Mark usually fishes with a soft clutch... NO he said CLUTCH dear!!)

I heard of this sort of thing but never seen it ....Amazing! smile.gif
