Rob Posted March 30, 2008 Report Posted March 30, 2008 I am hoping to shortly make up some leads. I would like to borrow the club mould\s. Is there a "keeper of the moulds" , any advise on how, who, where or when would be gratefully recieved. Thanks Rob Quote
Adam F Posted March 30, 2008 Report Posted March 30, 2008 Rob, You need to go through ' The initiation ceremony' before you can borrow them........... Quote
Rob Posted March 30, 2008 Author Report Posted March 30, 2008 Ok Adam, whatever it takes. Will we be doing it at the AGM or Saturday? Let me know so I can top up with some Dutch courage I have been contacted by the current holder of the moulds so should be sorted at the end of the month. Rob Quote
Coddy Posted March 30, 2008 Report Posted March 30, 2008 Rob You understand that making leads from club moulds eliminates you from any comps, that includes raffles! Coddy Quote
great white Posted March 31, 2008 Report Posted March 31, 2008 moulds I have But can anyone help with a decent burner My old tar heating ring seems to really soot up everything Any experts out there want to tender a solution or theory? Out of interest I have natural gas , butane and Propane available as fuel and have tried the first two with little differance. Charlie Quote
mw Posted March 31, 2008 Report Posted March 31, 2008 charlie have a look to see if you have an air whole blockage it might not be getting the right amount of air gas mix mark w Quote
Rob Posted April 1, 2008 Author Report Posted April 1, 2008 Thanks Charlie - I will contact you if \ when I will be moulding. I will be using a petrol stove to melt the lead - I have been told this is sufficient. Rob Quote
Adam F Posted April 1, 2008 Report Posted April 1, 2008 Yep - Coleman Sportster Stove. Runs on 20p of unleaded for about an hour, and more than powerful for melting lead. I have a spare one here which just needs a new generator - about a fiver from Bournemouth Fishing Lodge. Shout if you want it. Quote
plaicemat Posted April 1, 2008 Report Posted April 1, 2008 The last lot I did recently (28lb of lead used) I used the single burner gas stove I use on the boat. This is the one with a large gas cannister inserted into it and it did the job just fine. I think I paid Quote
Rob Posted April 1, 2008 Author Report Posted April 1, 2008 Thanks for the offer Adam but I do have the coleman - bl**dy brilliant. Can heat up a 6 man ten in 3 seconds!! Rob Quote
