Wedger Posted April 14, 2008 Report Posted April 14, 2008 Does anyone know of a supply of high test hollow braid - 300 - 600 lb range? Quote
plaicemat Posted April 14, 2008 Report Posted April 14, 2008 What the chuff are you going fishing for, Trev? Terry. Quote
alun j. Posted April 14, 2008 Report Posted April 14, 2008 I suspect he might be chasing the sharks ?? ......on Shogun?? Quote
Wedger Posted April 15, 2008 Author Report Posted April 15, 2008 It would be for knotless traces and assist hooks. A similar system to the knotless loop connections to fly fishing line. Quote
TomBettle Posted April 15, 2008 Report Posted April 15, 2008 No guarantee, but try Paul Bowers at Rok Max in Truro. Google them. They are brilliant. Quote
Wedger Posted April 15, 2008 Author Report Posted April 15, 2008 (edited) Done Not the reel heavy stuff and is waxex so would need to be stripped but i'll have a go. Cheers Edited April 15, 2008 by Wedger Quote
boybilly Posted April 15, 2008 Report Posted April 15, 2008 Hi Wedger, What about fly line, or is it too thin mate. BB Quote
Wedger Posted April 15, 2008 Author Report Posted April 15, 2008 Hi Billy, It's for making the loop links for assist hooks. I've decided to make my own, bespoke to the lures I am also making - to make sure I get them just the right size AND cheaper. Not sure it can be done with fly line do you know anything? T Quote
Adam F Posted April 15, 2008 Report Posted April 15, 2008 Trev, What about leadcore - used for carping? Dont know what the BS would be, but pretty easy to splice a hook into it? Adam Quote
boybilly Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 Ha Ha, Found it mate. In the new HIRO catalogue page 59. It is called ASSIST hook line and is a Dyneema braid with a removable core. Specifically made for assist hooks. Code Number 737 is 100kg, 738 is 150kg. Web site address: sportfishingfactory.com. I will try and scan the page for you if you pm your email address mate. The UK retailers are Hopkins and Holloway, Brickyard Lane Industrial Estate, Studlet, Warikshire. B80 7EE Tel: 01527 853822. I am sure that they will send you a catalogue if you call them.
