wrigler
Having had my anchor stuck fast a few times ( luckily retrieved but at the cost of painfull pulled muscles a couple of times )I will this year invest in the anka yanka set up . Is my Danforth compatable ? The anchor chain is heavier. Any advice will be helpfull. Terry

Gnasher
I put a write up just recently explaining how to set up the alderny rig. I actually use a danforth anchor myself, but they can slip occasionally, so a bruce is better. I also don't use the anchor yanker, instead just a plain large stainless ring that i got off stainless steve, and i attach the bouy to the ring with a carabeaner clip (spelling alert!) via 18 inches of rope. Its easy to do, but if anyone can find my 'long' explaination, please post!
Wedger
Scrap the Danforth and get a Bruce (or look-a-like. ). For really rocky stuff, a wire grapple may do, but trip it and be prepared to loose the odd one. IMHO Spot on Gnasher T
Neal
Go to the Beaulieu boat jumble next Sunday and see the stall run by "stainless Steve" Batchelor All the components for the Alderney ring setup are available at reduced prices. See also his web site which I think is something like stainless steve engineering. He is based somewhere in Lymington - anyway he is a very approachable chap and will explain exactly what is required. Does some very good quality stainless steel landing nets and I want one - I have been saving up - unless of course anyone else knows where I can get one big enough for Conger/Tope/Cod/Ling etc Neal Edited April 21, 2008 by Neal
Manic Moore
Funny enough I am also after a new landing net as my old Alloy version got an attack of the salt water and fell apart, and it needs to hold 60lb + conger Any suggestions? Clean please
