Paul,

John tells me you'll be able to help promote our match. I am very grateful for anything you are able to do. To give you a bit of info on the situation, Callum Graham, who is a local lad and son of David Graham, has been selected to represent his country in Spain in October, and when David opened the letter from the NFSA he was shocked to learn there is no funding for the national teams, and the cost is well over a thousand pounds just for Callum to fish, and as he's a junior, the parents are having to travel with him so the cost is even more. My son has been selected along with four other Juniors to represent England in the world championships in Barcelona in October this year, it is the highest honour to represent your country but a costly one for all team members and managers. Chris Clark and Steve Allmark are managing the team again this year and they too have to fund their trip , infact Chris is paying for the boys flights out of his own pocket to ease the burden .

Myself and Tom Bagnall from Christchurch Angling centre decided to run an open match to raise fund for the junior team as a whole , to help cover some of the costs as well as raise awareness to the lack of funding.

Each junior selected to fish the world championships has sponsorship from Fox International with a Conqueror multi tip match rod and an Extreme Horizon beach caster as well as sponsorship from Kamasan with a supply of match hooks for the event and more recently Tronix who are suppling rig winders for the huge amount of rigs each competitor has to take.

The rest is down to the parents with
