Adam F
Any recommendations on a quiet in-line pump to use on a live bait tank? Doesnt need to move loads of water (350 gph) I used a little Rule on my last 2 boats, but obviosuly these are not inline. The Shurflo / Flojet / Parmax Ive seen and heard so far really annoy me when used for a livewell as they hum away, I used to forget the Rule was running. Thanks in advance! Rob
Adam, I am using a Rule livebait well pump which has a through hull pickup attahced instead of the usual base. I have then attached a connector to attache hose as I am not using it through the hull. Effectivley it is in-line.
great white
Hi Adam I will keep an eye on this thread as you have probabl;y noticed how loud mine can be when it cuts in as a deckwsh. Charlie
Adam F
Rob, Youre a star!! That is just the ticket - I'd imagine they would be cheaper than a big Parmax etc too. Charlie - i'll order one and you'll have to see / hear what you think. Cheers
Tomo
HI Adam, I used the same setup as Rob except I used the new type of skin fitting with an isolating valve and the pump scews into the valve. The whole unit is a composite material and so you have no problem with the possability of electrolysis you can experience with the conventional brass skin fitting and ball valve. I got mine from Christchurch Boat Shop. Tomo Edited June 23, 2008 by Tomo
Adam F
Thanks Tomo - sounds good. Any chance of a photo or spec?
Adam F
http://www.tcschandlery.co.uk/ProductDetai...60-cdbf295208a0 A bargin!! Ive ordered one of these. Next Q - I'm favouring a skin fitting and stopcock all in one unit - less connections to fail - is this right? Also do I want a standard open pick up or do I need a scoop type? great white
Adam Mine is a standard type and works at all speeds I opted away from the scoop as it could scoop rubbish in past the grill.which would be hard to get out. I fitted a bronze one and ball valve for strength, as if it ever broke it would flood the engine bay. Volvos and sea water would not mix well Charlie
Adam F
Right, a bit of frantic research in order to add on to exisiting orders and I have the following on order: A composite seacock and skin fitting in one. Went for composite to avoid electrolysis issues, it is fire resistant and claims to be as strong as brass or s/s... This will route to a Y piece which then feeds a rule pump as Rob says above - purchased from TCS for just
Tomo
Adam, The valves are by Forespar. Really great products http://www.forespar.com/onlineCatalog/2008...Barbs2008.shtml Tomo
