Rob
Well Charlie A and I set out of Mudeford just about 8am and soon met up with Enticer. We caught mackerell quite quickly and Charlie used his luck on managing 3 pollack and a pout in the haul! Having the bait well onboard we got slightly distracted by trying for Bass but the wind \ tide combo didnt make the drifts as I wanted. I think we could have put in more effort but we were really enjoying ourselves. Charlies lucky Bass: We headed in at 13:00 as the wind picked up and we both had engagements to keep! Cheers Rob
Overrun
Nice Bass, well done. Sunday I was sat out off the start of the Ledge listening to you lot on CH6. Wind was difficult on the way back, took 45 minutes to do one mile . Anyone point me in the direction of some pack Tope? Preferably less than 2 miles out! Gnasher
xray, but its just over 2 miles. Maybe 2.5miles tops. Other than that, i think its the best you will get from xchurch, plenty of pack tope there though.

Maverick Martin
Hi James I am sure you would get a lot more help if you joined the club proper, you can even do it via paypal now Martin
Maverick Martin
James just noticed your a paddler, get a proper boat and join the club or maybe set up a paddler section within the club? Martin

Maverick Martin
To be honest you will find pack Tope at some point all along the bay, shore fishermen seem to catch a few but for our area you may need to travel a little further offshore to get regular success. Not the same with hounds though. There are a few marks in the solent that fish really well close in. With crab for bait that maybe a better target, they certainly pull your string Martin
Overrun
Ticked off both Smuts from the list for our species comp. Great fun as you say Martin, especially in the Yak. Will get a 'proper' boat one day, the Kayak is real blast though. Thanks again for all your help. rgds James edit: Kayak demo this weekend, Mudeford Spit opposite the Quay on the harbour side. Come and try one out, there will be fishing Kayaks, together with a number of us fisherman.
charlieannear
You could still join the club, no need to own a boat! Then perhaps come out on a boat from time to time when you're feeling a bit lazy! BTW, did we see you by the groynes off Mudeford on Sunday- orange yak, man with a very bendy fishing rod? Quite possibly, there were 3 or 4 of us out, was at the start of the Ledge, easily recognisable by my bush hat. Loads of Mackerel, a few Bream, Scad and a PB Tub Gurnard later off Avon Beach. I'll be joining-up later in the year once our species comp is out of the way.
