Gas
Please can anyone give me some advice on a trip next week (weather permitting? ) . Jackie and I will be kid free next week so I would like to make the most of it; I would like to take two days at sea to get to Lyme Regis first stop over at Weymouth B&B or sleep on Abode11? What I would love is some numbers for Turbot Rays Etc on the Shambles and any other marks on the way and what to target and what gear required. Do I need to pre book for Weymouth and Lyme Regis if so who do we ring? TA!! Craig Abode11
TomBettle
Big Tides next week right through to Thursday which will make fishing the Shambles hard work with Friday onwards being the only properly sensible time. Turbot will be right across the Shambles, but I personally have found the Eastern side through to the middle to be more productive... that said, don't expect them to jump on the hooks, it's hard work. alun j.
Craig \ Jackie, Good luck with the weather..looking to stay unsettled!! With the big tides, beware of the overfalls. Fishing the Shambles is hard work, esp with big tides; the depth changes hugely over the banks and you have to keep in touch with the bottom. Many boats slow their drift by dragging a weight. I've been disappointed with the fishing [but have to admit that I've only been there in early Spring when not so good up here], small plaice and a couple of turbot..... for many hours drifting! Wherever you get to, have a good holiday, Alun.

Maverick Martin
Craig Generally no need to book in Weymouth for a berth. As you approach the harbour call up the harbour master on CH12 give a description of your vessel ie size etc and he will direct to to a berth more info at Wemouth details Not sure about Lyme regis but some info here Martin
