Coddy
I would like to publicly thank Charlie, Rob and crew for helping me out on Sunday. We had a fan belt snap just as we started to go up the main channel in the harbour, managed to get to a buoy and tie up but found that the x2 spare fan belts were the wrong length! Called Charlie on the radio and he kindly towed us back to the RNLI college. Hope you had a good days fishing and sorry I delayed you in getting out. The drinks are definitely on me at the next meeting. Coddy
Adam F
Nice to hear... Sorry to Dave that you had problems again, but well done to Charlie for helping out - a great example of what the club is all about!!
Rob
Exactly right Adam. No worries Caddy - we never mind helping out when we can - especially when we know you would have done the same for us. Hope you get your fanbelt sorted - hey if only Bill would have lent you his tights, but he said he needed them for some job at the post office tomorrow!! Sinbad
Its interesting - sometimes one favour can never be repaid in the same way. Which is why I towed a stranded RIB on the ledge into the safety of the beach on Thursday, hoping that if ever it was me in the same situation, someone will show the true spirit of what we all share by owning a boat and lend a hand.... The way I see it is that no one intentionally goes out anticipating to break down, and the actual incident, and stress when it happens is bad enough and a sobering experience, without having the worst happen, which could be loss of life or abandonment of the boat. So to be rescued, more than compensates for the incident.... Well Done Charlie, Rob and Crew... what a Star Turn!
