Neal
A friend of mine is restoring an old boat and wants to replace the majority of the windows. He wants the proper marine grade, toughened glass stuff not perspex - doesn't need the frames. Any one know where this is sourced locally? Member Removed
Try ringing Marine Options at Cobbs Quay, they should know. 01202 677755.
Brian
I want to change the wheelhouse on my boat which will mean replacing all the glass. I enquired at Dorset Glass on Nuffield Estate, they can supply Toughened safety glass to any shape (I'm going for 6mm), all you need do is provide a template (the old windows, hardboard etc). great white
When I fitted the Glass to GW years ago it was available cut to size by many glass companies, toughened or laminated. Mine were fitted in rubbers so i had them cut and ground to take off the sharp edges [which I think I talked them into including in the price] This method is a hell of a lot cheaper than the ally framed ones, probably as you do not need to use the marine industry.
