Gnasher Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 i eventually sorted out my wiring probs for my navman 7100 vhf, but now every 5 mins it rings like a telephone. any ideas? Quote
Bob F Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 Sounds like you are getting a DSC call. Does the display say anything? Sometimes the DSC message is in small writing. BF Quote
djredrupp Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 ours is a navman, and rings like an old mobile when it looses the gps signal (i.e. we turn the plotter off). you have to press esc to stop it Quote
Coddy Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 If you need a users manual go here http://www.navmanmarine.net/upload/Marine/...0VHF_Screen.pdf and it will download it for you. Coddy Quote

Rob Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 Charlie A's Navman does that and it is friking annoying!!! Quote
Neal Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 My one does the same.................. If the GPS is not switched on if a DSC call is received Sometimes as a result of low battery charge - Gps looses signal and then causes VHF ring / alarm to go off. Press escape or change from Channel 16 to Channel 6 - it should stop - check battery charge. If not..........haven't a clue Neal Quote
britboard Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 if you aren't going to connect it to a GPS go into the comm menu and turn the NMEA checksum to off and it will stop making noises unless it receives a DSC call. Simon L Quote
