Bob F
Sounds like you are getting a DSC call. Does the display say anything? Sometimes the DSC message is in small writing. BF

djredrupp
ours is a navman, and rings like an old mobile when it looses the gps signal (i.e. we turn the plotter off). you have to press esc to stop it

Rob
Charlie A's Navman does that and it is friking annoying!!!
Neal
My one does the same.................. If the GPS is not switched on if a DSC call is received Sometimes as a result of low battery charge - Gps looses signal and then causes VHF ring / alarm to go off. Press escape or change from Channel 16 to Channel 6 - it should stop - check battery charge. If not..........haven't a clue Neal
britboard
if you aren't going to connect it to a GPS go into the comm menu and turn the NMEA checksum to off and it will stop making noises unless it receives a DSC call.
