alun j.
....but I expect I'll get out at least once! Tuesday is looking the only possible day........ and the whole week looks better spent in the garden. Depending on the wind.....I'll be thinking of creeping out of Mudeford and fish the ebb over X-ray, then back inshore when wind gets up and in with the early flood. Office hours !! Depending on what we arrange with Rob F and Charlie A, there may be a seat on Gastro spare if anyone else is as keen [or daft] as me! Alun. Gnasher
Alun, is there many rays getting caught from xray yet? a bit early i would have thought. I may look 2 get out in the next couple of weeks if and when they start showing there.

gaffa
I'm going to attempt a trip out tomorrow. I've still got bait to use up from the weekend This time I think I'll stick to inshore and concentrate on the Swash and The Patches. The sea state seems "reasonable " considering the weather forecast but I bet it will be pretty nippy .. Wonderful things Eberspachers Anyone else thinking of braving it ? Spare Place available if you want it Peteg
alun j.
'Twas a bit breezy today ......... and no sign of target species!! Next opportunity [for me] looks like being Sun or Mon, when next window of calm looks like appearing.......... meanwhile, it will be the garden for me for the rest of this week! Alun. gaffa
Alun, Not just Breezy but Chilly when heading into it. I blanked today other than catching a Pot Bouy when drifting the Swash. Terrible feeling to see your favourite Ugly Stick and Charter Special take a sudden dive overboard This is one of the problems when on your own and fishing 2 rods and both get caught up in the Pot rope when drifting at almost 1.5 knots...You only get enough time to try and save one of them. Not one to give up easily I motored after said pot buoy (a plastic container) and matched speed with the tide and proceeded to fish for trace line with boat hook 2 minutes later Rod and Reel recovered successfully Decided to give up drifting the Swash and took the boat across the bay to blow some cobwebs away Saw masses of Pot Buoys and decided to give up this drifting lark and headed home Peteg
great white
Well done for getting the tackle back Pete The wind seems to be up for a while, its stopping me getting the boat out now which is frustrating Charlie
charlieannear
Frustrating? I studied the catch reports from last year, booked the week off work, sat at work all last week while it was nice, spent 3 weekends servicing the trailer and sorted my kit. And the only fishable day was yesterday when I had the Opti booked in for a service. B****CKS. At least no-one caught anything of note yesterday! This better not be another windy year like last year or I might have to take up kite-flying istead...
Paul J
I do feel for you Charlie, get the beachcasters out, i've got one if you need to borrow it PJ
charlieannear
Well, the best I can do really is take Alun's lead and get the gardening and outside DIY done, at least then WHEN the weather is boatable...
Mike Fox
Wonder what a Shetland goes like with a mast and sails Charlie....? I'd like to be out having fun if I had the week off, but I have too much work on (for a few weeks), and the boat is still chocked up awaiting winter works! gaffa
If My interpretation of windguru is right then all of next week looks mirror calm and 1.5 ish knot tides Wrecks Ahoy!! B@@@er Have got to clear out my old house so may not be allowed to wet a line I'll have to do 24hr shifts to get enough brownie points from FPO
