Coddy Posted August 24, 2004 Report Posted August 24, 2004 Hi all I am not sure if you are all aware of the MCA site (Marine & Coastguard Agency) at http://www.mcga.gov.uk/c4mca/mcga-home.htm Check out the Newsroom and Seasmart, it makes you think about safety and "by the grace of god go I" I think we have all had some sort of 'near miss' but some of these stories are unbelivable. I don't want to be a "downer" but it goes make interesting reading especialy the prosecution section! Regards Coddy Quote
Bob F Posted August 25, 2004 Report Posted August 25, 2004 Yes, interesting reading, Coddy. The item about the guy that drowned even though he was wearing an automatic life jacket was a lesson we should all learn from. This investigation revealed that the trigger mechanism on the lifejacket had operated successfully, but the gas cylinder had unscrewed a little and the trigger did not reach and pierce it. So, check that your bottles are screwed up tightly. Bob F. Quote
Adam F Posted August 25, 2004 Report Posted August 25, 2004 Very helpful Coddy!...Maybe we should have it as a 'Safety' link on the home page? Quote
