great white Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 You would think cutting all those holes in the ice would be a worry but I expect its damn thick. We have some at work that's about 3" thick now Charlie Quote

great white Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 Hi Tom Some of the stored dinghies departed at the weekend, the area they left is full of great lumps of ice [must have been on the covers] You would not want to hit one of these with a GRP hull, if it was floating in the harbour I expect Parkstone Bay marina was also fairly iced up last weekend, I hope you have good antifreeze in that new engine mate. Paul D Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 Had a go at that once when I was in the States. It basically involved taking a big holecutter and a tent, cutting hole through the ice and sitting in the tent all afternoon fishing. Also had plenty of beer I recall Quote
